Artisan Roast Glasgow (5♥) is on Gibson near the bridge over the River Kelvin.

Artisan Roast is one of the original, if not the first, specialty coffee roasters in Scotland and were the only ones to set the standard for many years. While the growing popularity of specialty coffee has created new roasters, they're definitely still a standard setter and offer some of the best beans and coffee you'll get in the country, served in their chilled out, hessian draped, bric-a-brac decorated shops.

The Gibson Street shop offers brew bar lovers a choice of virtually all the main brew methods, with Artisan Roast beans to suit each. They also sell some brew kit including aeropresses, filters, drippers, chemexes and, of course, bags of their beans to take home. You can also buy their beans via their website on a one-off or subscription basis.

They do light meals including muesli, bagels, brioche and soups and diners can sit on ground floor or on an upstairs mezzanine area. You'll have a choice of stools, chairs and couches on which to rest and can expect to see a few students dotted about studying.

Local artists also display their works on the walls - we're big fans of indy businesses who support their community, especially local creatives!

This one's a must do on the Glasgow high quality coffee scene.
