Glen Lyon welcome visitors to their roastery in Aberfeldy - offering a brief tour any time from 10am to 4pm, from Monday to Thursday.
Check their website and sign up to their newsletter for details of talks, their monthly cupping club and courses at the roastery. Larger groups and/or longer tours are by appointment only.
Glen Lyon set up in 2011 and roast on a Probat in Aberfeldy, Perthshire. They work with farmers and co-ops around the world, sourcing beans that are typically shade grown at between 1400-2000m above sea level. Glen Lyon's range changes seasonally and a number of their coffees are also organically certified.
Social and environmental sustainability are core to their way of working and they travel to origin as much as possible to build long lasting relationships with their producers (you can follow this on their social media channels).
As well as recycling, Glen Lyon donate coffee chaff (a by-product of roasting) to chicken farms and send any long dated coffee to Fair Share Charity, for distribution to homeless centres across Scotland.
